With all of the uncertainty going on right now with COVID-19, I thought it might help those of you with school closures to have a list of free resources available to you. Remote learning sounded daunting to this music teacher just a few days ago, but I’ve found help from so many awesome music teachers and apps. If there are any resources I missed, please leave them in the comments below. I will update this list soon, as I am also working on some free resources for this strange situation. In the meantime, stay well, friends!
APPS AND WEBSITES
- Seesaw is great for digitally corresponding with students and their families. You can post lessons you create, or browse through the music section of the Activity Library to find resources other music teachers have made.
- Google Classroom is another way of communicating with students. You can post assignments and activities, and students can respond. How cool!
- Quaver is a really cool digital music curriculum that my district started using this semester. I pull cool resources out of it all the time. Quaver will be free to affected teachers for the rest of the year. Find out how to sign up here.
- Flipgrid and nearpod are also popular teacher resources, though I am not as familiar with them. Both are free for closed schools.
